  • Celebrating 100 posts 🎉

Thank you so much for accompanying me on this incredible journey. At the beginning of July when I set out I never dreamed of reaching 100 posts. And now, here we are!

To celebrate this occasion, let’s have a quick review of what happened so far:

Wow, look at this word cloud! It is incredible!
And for all the data nerds out there let’s have a more detailed look, shall we 😄

According to WordPress as of today there are 100 posts in 13 different categories and with over 100 tags. The most used category is “poetry” with 59 posts, the second place “weekly review” with 15 posts is far behind. The top two tags are “life” with 20 posts and “haiku” with 18 posts respectively.
The three most popular posts are “books“, “game of life” and “hoarding haiku“.
If you missed one of them or need a quick refresher or are just curious, click the links above ☝️

I gathered and analysed these insights out of curiosity but it was never my intention to limit myself to them. So I will continue publishing what comes to mind, piques my curiosity or looks like a lot of fun. 😁 To give you a hint what to expect, the next two weeks will each feature a distinct theme.

Thank you so much for your continued support and I’ll see you around.

  • suspenseful haiku

    a ghostly chorus
    surrounding, enveloping
    mocking you

  • beaded Fallout ghoul penguins

These beaded penguins were inspired by the video game series Fallout featuring a ghoul, a glowing one and a radioactively contaminated penguin, whom a third arm is growing out of it’s belly.

I chose those beads especially to highlight the individual traits of the characters depicted: Marbled beads for the ghoul, glowing-in-the-dark beads for the glowing one and neon green beads for the contaminated penguin.

  • Review week 41/2025

    Grateful

    • Because of technical difficulties at the office this week I unexpectedly got days off and used that time to work on my current study course assignments.

    Failure

    • Every time I think about work or being at the office I feel my muscles tensing up.

    Take Away/Doing Next

    • To help me better cope with the current situation I’m going to visualise the moment where I no longer need to go to the office.
    • Seeking out opportunities to find potential future collaborators.
  • tireless

    Adjective

tireless (comparative more tireless, superlative most tireless)

    1. Like in requiring no rest to regain one’s strength again.
      • Must be kinda hell of an energy drink.
    2. Like in enjoying to repeat the same task over and over again.
      • Could be considered boring by some people.
    3. Like in needing no tires to move around.
      • Yeah to getting to places on foot.
  • droll gambol

roll a role around a pole

thole a toll from a troll

dole a bowl out of a bole

control a hole as a whole

cajole a soul on a stroll

  • beaded penguin Ubuntu logo

Six beaded penguins forming the Ubuntu logo.
beaded penguins forming the Ubuntu logo

Before switching to Debian a few years ago I was using Kubuntu as operating system for a long time, but kinda liked the old version of the official Ubuntu logo. At that time I decided to try and emulate the logo with beaded penguins. Even if Ubuntu already changed their logo twice since then, I’d like to share my version with you.

Beaded penguins are mimicking the Ubuntu logo by forming a circle. In total there are six penguins, three big ones looking up at the camera and three tiny ones. The penguins are coloured yellow, orange and red. Opposite each big penguin is its corresponding little penguin. Starting at the top going clock-wise: big orange penguin (looking upwards), little yellow penguin, big red penguin (looking upwards), little orange penguin, big yellow penguin (looking upwards) and little red penguin.

At the beginning Ubuntu’s branding strategy was focusing on the human element of their OS, resulting in them creating some advertisement photos where humans are forming the Ubuntu logo. And in turn inspiring my penguin version.

The logo Ubuntu used from 2004 till 2010 upon which my beaded penguin version is based upon.

  • Review week 40/2025

    Grateful

    • I’m grateful to have people in my life who accept me for who I am and I love that we can mutually enjoy our time together.

    Failure

    • I got late to bed on several occasions this week resulting in having to catch up on sleep on Sunday.

    Take Away/Doing Next

    • I want to surround myself with people who are good for me, from whose company I can refill energy and draw inspiration.
  • happy thought

    there it is
    this tiny little
    happy thought that
    makes you smile
    treasure that thought
    share that thought
    with every person
    willing to listen
    if only one
    other person is
    smiling, the world
    is already a

    better place
